About Extra Life

Extra Life started with a little girl in Orange, Texas, Victoria Enmon. After a radiothon for the Texas Children’s Hospital, a new idea emerged. Why not help entertain the kids with video games? A local radio DJ reached out to a gaming company that provided some video games. But the message went viral – and hundreds of games came in. There were so many that Victoria had to give them away. Though Victoria tragically lost her battle with Leukemia, her selfless act inspired the creation of Extra Life. Today, thousands of gamers from around the world converge online each year for Extra Life. The goal? Raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® (CMNH). Since 2008, Extra Life has raised over $130 million. All donations fund critical life-saving treatments, innovative research, vital pediatric medical equipment, and child life services.

What we’re doing

Join us for our 24-hour “follow the sun” marathon live on Twitch as Team ModSquad passes the baton to members across the globe. We’ll be playing games, accepting challenges, and collecting donations to change kids’ health. See all the details here.

When it’s happening

The main event starts on November 14th at 12 PM PT on Twitch.

We’ll be pre-streaming before that, so check our Twitch page starting November 3rd and running through November 13th.
